        According to the report, in August 2019, red foxes appeared near the Wailing Wall, the most sacred of Judaism in the old city of Jerusalem. Some people say that this phenomenon means that biblical prophecy is gradually being fulfilled. Dozens of foxes run in and out of the southwest corner of the area from dawn to sunrise. The fox that appeared in Jerusalem has been told in  Lamentations, which says, “Mount Zion is desolate while the fox walks on it”. So some people think that the red fox running in the temple of Lamentations reminder of the desolation experienced by the Jewish people in history.

       But many Jewish news forums and website seem to be motivated by a passage in the Talmud wrote 2000 years ago, which are full of hope and comfort. One of the chapters describes that Gamliel, Elazar ben Azaria, Joshua, and Akiva went to the temple of Lamentations, when they arrived, they saw a red fox running out from it. When they saw this, all of them were crying, except Akiva who was laughing. When Akiva asked them why they were crying, they explained that seeing a wild animal in the Holy Land was enough to upset them. Akiva then said what made them cry was what exactly made him laugh, and he explained that if the ancient prophecies of Israel’s destruction were accurate, then the prophecy of Israel’s future prosperity prophecies in Zechariah would be accurate. The later prosperity and power of Israel confirmed the good symbol of the red fox in the temple.
